Give and get support around quitting
This is my first post. I quit smoking out of necessity and quit the day before I had surgery on my lung for what turned out to be cancer. I never thought I could go 3 weeks so I am proud of myself. I caught the flu one week after my surgery and yesterday I had to put my dog to sleep. So I have had some major issues and find the depression is really getting to me. I have cried almost everyday since I had surgery. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem and would appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
Michelle
Congrats on your 3 weeks. That's a lot to deal with early in your quit. Stay strong. Reach out if you need help; we're here for you.

Healing prayers are sent.
Thanks for all the love and support. I can't imagine going thru this alone.
and you don't have to. Holding hands is what we do here!

With a start to your quit as you described, everything after this will be a piece of cake! You're very strong. And we're right by your side. You SHOULD be real proud of yourself. The beginning of this journey is hard enough without your added burdens. Sorry about your dog. Many of us have had to go through that very difficult heart process of releasing the animals we love to a better place. We share your experience.
Sit back, open the book of EX and let your mind learn and your heart heal. We're walking this walk with you.
OMG... I’d be more concerned if you hadn’t cried. You have had a lot of awful going on in your life. Yes quitting smoking is going to throw you into emotional turmoil, but you’ve been diagnosed with cancer and your dog died, Cut yourself some slack..... take a deep breath. We are here for you. Hang in, hang on.....
Michelle, I am so sorry all this is piled onto you. I am praying for you and sending hugs. I am 10 days into quitting after a 7 month relapse. I had to put my dog down too honey and I have been crying everyday since I did that one month ago. Cry, cry, and cry if you need to. Please let us know how the surgery went and how you are feeling. Hugs, Laura
How are you doing? This quitting thing is a journey and so is grieving...there is nothing you can do to make it go faster but each day, each HOUR that you put behind you, you are one step ahead. You must be coming up on a month now. PLEASE check in and let us know how you are doing.

I am doing better, thanks for asking. It's four weeks today!
FOUR weeks? With all with which you are dealing? That's HUGE! You should feel very proud of yourself! Very!
