How to get back on track

So I am up and down with this quit stuff   One day I will feel really motivated and then

Im back to I can’t do it right now.  I am trying to put together some daily routine about

checking in to get motivation so any suggestions are appreciated. I can not find where

to start my blog?  I still don’t feel comfortable on the site?  Years ago I the site jus seemed

easier somehow - not to criticize- Just don’t feel like I’m sure what to do on the site daily

i know I can do this. Just can’t get enough steam up to start a quit

many thx

Hi George-Martin are you reading and preparing for the quit? Are you ridding all your smoking paraphernalia? What is your plan? The site is here for support.  You can ask for help, support, etc., we can help you in this journey, just trying to find out what I and others can help you with ... I hope you set that Quit date and start planning ... here to help anyway I can help ~ Colleen ~ 101 DOF

To post a blog go the the home page.  Click on the middle blue square that says "Post to My Blog".  This site just takes a little practice.

As far as your quit - it is really about making up your mind, educating yourself, and seeking out support.  When I approached it as an addiction to overcome rather than a habit to break, I became a successful quitter.

Best wishes!

You CAN do this.  The best thing to do is to read everything you can about this addiction, even if you think you already know everything about it.  I tracked cigarettes and while it did not result in my quitting at that time, the things I planned to do INSTEAD of smoking when triggers occurred, stuck with me and helped when I actually did quit.  I got so sick that the choice was no longer mine...I came here every morning and every evening and I read blogs, I read what was working for others, I blogged, I commented, I felt so incredibly supported that I don't know if I COULD have gone back to smoking.  Yes,  I had some craves but none of them killed me because craves DON'T kill, cigarettes kill.  Feelings are MEANT to be felt, feeling is NORMAL, smoking is NOT normal.  Stuffing feelings into cigarettes is how we got addicted...it's time to learn to feel the feelings.  Get rid of everything that is smoking related, PLAN to do things OTHER than smoke and jump in, the water really IS fine.
